NEWS!

Guestbook

Monday 23 Feb 2009

I feel the need to post an update but I don't really have any news.
Sarah is 3 and a half, 41 inches tall and 42 pounds.
Life is pretty good. Work is keeping me busy but I'm enjoying it most of the time.

I'm on FaceBook now. I never thought I would get into the social networking thing but it's turning out to be a pretty useful application.

Monday 26 May 2008

I guess I haven't posted any news in almost three years.
I'm doing some software updates to the web site this weekend, fixing broken links and other things so I probably should post an update while I'm here.

We moved into our new house in Nov of '06 and have been pretty busy ever since.
Sarah will be three years old in September and she's using the potty all the time now! Yay!
Here's some recent photos of her and the family.

I got laid off from Phonic Ear last year and have a better job now with Portola Systems as a mobile consulting computer nerd.
Kris is still working at Phonic Ear 4 days a week.

This weekend I moved all my Music files to another disk and re-indexed everything to make searching easier and to clear out old data.
That really seemed to help the old web server run much smoother.
I also updated my photos archive to the latest version of Listpics which is a big improvement.
I still need to update some other pages and I'll probably have to remove the Guestbook due to excessive spam.

Here is a link to copies of the news reports about the accident.
Her injuries caused bruising and swelling in her brain which is very serious.

House Plans.
Work is still progressing on the plans for our new house.
We are getting ready to sign off on the final plans today.

Here is a PDF of the final plans.

Sunday 28 Mar 2004

Kris and I just got back from a trip to New Orleans. We had a great time and even saw some alligators.
Pictures are in the Photos archive.

F.Y.I. My birthday is coming up on the 6th of April. I'll be 38.

Kris and I are still working towards building a house in Sebastopol.  We have the plans almost finished and we're working on all the paperwork.  If all goes well, we'll have our new house this fall.

Dan and I are starting our training to get in shape for a second attempt at Mt. Shasta this summer.
I don't know if we'll be able to convince Chris and Matt to go with us this time.

Tuesday 2 Sep 2003

Well, I did it. We all made it to the top of Mt. Whitney on 14 Aug 2003. The air is pretty thin at 14,495 Feet.
We started from the Whitney portal at ~8,000ft and climbed to Trail Camp at 12,000ft the first day.
We summited the next day, leaving trail camp at around 6:30am and reaching the summit about 11:00am.
Then we left the summit and hiked all the way back down to Whitney portal the same day.
Wheew! Boy were my legs sore.
Pictures are here and a video of the trip can be downloaded here.

Saturday. 28 Jun 2003

It's summer time and I'm preparing to climb Mt. Whitney with Dan, Chris and Matt in the second week of August.
In the mean time I'm trying to get in shape by hiking local trails on weekends and running when I can during the week.

I recently bought myself a new toy in preparation for the trip. A handheld GPS receiver. While I was searching for some GPS software, I stumbled across a new excuse to get outdoors. It's called Geocaching. It's basically a global easter egg hunt. It's turned out to be a lot of fun. It gets us out of the house and gives me an excuse to use my GPS receiver.
